The festival kicks off on Friday with a 3:00PM pre-party inside of
Hats and Horseshoes presented by Stella Artois!
At 7:30PM we welcome to the stage veteran bluegrass performer Dan Tyminski, followed by an unforgettable performance from country music superstar Brad Paisley at 9:00PM.

Join us early on for a concert pre-party starting at 3PM and enjoy live racing, live entertainment, a variety of food + drink options, games and more!

Gates to the concert area open at 5PM - arrive early and get close to the stage with your General Admission ticket or purchase a Premium or Paddock Party ticket ahead of time and access a designated area plus many other weekend-long benefits.

For Premium and Paddock Party ticket holders, a designated area to watch the concert from is included in your Queen’s Plate Festival ticket price.

Brad Paisley is a critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, guitarist and entertainer whose talents have earned him numerous awards, including three GRAMMYs, two American Music Awards, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards and 14 Country Music Association Awards (including Entertainer of the Year),
among many others.

Dan​​ Tyminski

After a stint in the Lonesome River Band, Tyminski has been a member of Union Station for 25 years, pitching in on a load of side projects along the way.

Tyminski contributed guitar and/or harmony to projects by Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Kenny Chesney, Leann Rimes, Aaron Lewis and Rob Thomas, to name a few.

Jason Parsons is a Canadian DJ and producer who works under the name "Human Kebab".

As Human Kebab, Parsons hosts and DJ's two alternative rock radio remix shows. The first, SubSONiC, began in 2013 in Edmonton, Alberta on CHDI-FM (SONiC 102.9) followed by Rock Paper Mixers on KX 93.5 in Laguna Beach, California three years later.

Admission to Woodbine Racetrack and parking are free, however, a ticket is required to access the pre-party and concert areas on June 29.

Feast on your favourite local food trucks and enjoy a variety of cocktail options or choose from great beer brands including Stella Artois, Bud, Bud Light, Shappie spiced, Schweppes cocktails, Motts Clamato Caesar, Hires, Vodka and more.

What to Wear -

Comfort is key on Day 1 of The Queen’s Plate Festival. Dig out your favourite plaid shirt or keep it simple with a plain tee. Add something denim and great pair of cowboy boots or flats and you’re set to go. Top your style with great accessories like layering necklaces, statement jewelry, hats or bandanas!

Grab your favourite hat or fascinator, dress in your finest summer threads and enjoy the most fashionable event of the summer! Gates open at 11AM with live racing and on-track parties kicking off at 12PM.

They went in with the lake still covered by ice and emerged 4 weeks later, in the first days of spring, bearing with them new music...

​​Born Ruffians

Ten years ago, on the very first song on their very first album, Born Ruffians revealed their ambitions to start their own country. They didn’t really offer details about how they would go about legally annexing land, drafting a constitution or establishing a native currency, but we did know this much: it had a population of three—singer/guitarist Luke Lalonde, bassist Mitch DeRosier and drummer Steve Hamelin.

Natasha Zimbaro

The product of boundless determination, relentless perseverance and many late nights, “Natasha Zimbaro” marks the talented singer-songwriters return to where she feels she’s meant to be. After catching the eye of The Road Hammers’ Jason McCoy during an opening slot for Carrie Underwood at the Merritt Mountain Music Festival in BC, Zimbaro began working with the seasoned artist.

Singer/songwriter - Elyse Saunders is a Nashville recording artist that shines on stage that brings her homegrown roots of Peterborough, Ontario to the urban city of Toronto and beyond. Catching one of her shows, it's easy to see why she's gained popularity at the top country clubs, fairs, festivals and music venues. Elyse can be described as the "life of the party" captivating her audience with her powerhouse vocals, dynamic presence and interactive charm.

Delta Sugar

Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar's latest recording, entitled "Run to Me", is scheduled for release in Apr il 2018. Produced by Darcy Yates (Bassist in Bahamas), the new album explores the full range of the vicissitudes of love: desire, betrayal and , at times, emotional
and sexual satisfaction.

DAY 2 -Event Details

Bud Beer Garden Hours:

Saturday 11:00am - 10:00pm

Hats & Horseshoes Experience -

Enter the party with your friends and immediately be prepared for your first fashionable shot of the day on The Queen’s Plate Turf Carpet. From there, create your own experience and revel in the live music, entertainment, contests and games happening all around you. Shop at David Dunkley’s Fine Millinery to top your look with a couture hat or opt for a trendy flower crown from Petal to the Metal. Sip champagne cocktails, play a game of croquet at the Lemon Lemon Lawn games, bet on the ponies or hang out on the grass while enjoying the great bands on stage.

* All Queen’s Plate Festival tickets will include access into the Hats & Horseshoes Party - Presented by Stella Artois.

Post Race Concert -

When the last race goes off, the party doesn’t end! Make your way to the Hats & Horseshoes Stage and get ready for a concert featuring two yet-to-be-announced artists.

All Queen’s Plate Festival tickets can access the post-race concert. All tickets will have general admission access to the post-race concert and proximity to the stage will be provided at a first come basis.

Food + Drink -

Enjoy crisp summer beverages including champagne cocktails, frozen alcoholic slushies, a glass of Rosé or try the Official Cocktail of The Queen’s Plate. Opt for one of our new Ready to Drink beverages including Mott’s Clamato Caesars, Snapple Spiked Vodka or Hires Root Beer and Vodka; or choose from a wide selection of beer offerings including Stella Artois, Bud, Bud Light, Millstreet Organic, Alexander Keith’s, Corona and more.

And don’t forget the food! Eat from 10 of Toronto’s hottest food trucks including Apple Fritter Factory, Smoke’s Poutinerie, Fidel Gastro and Woodbine’s very own featuring the best from our Grandstand kitchens!

What to Wear -

Think summer garden party with pastel colours, light materials and unique accessories. Make a bold statement by mixing patterns and adding pops of colour.

For women, find the perfect summer dress or jumper, add a great pair of wedges or chucky heels and top off with a great hat or fascinator and bold sunnies.

For men, dig out that statement jacket you’ve been waiting to wear, add a great pair of fitted pants and finish off the look with a pair of Oxford shoes or Boat Shoes for added comfort. To upgrade your look even further, mix in a bow tie, a great pocket square or flower and even go for the fedora if you’re feeling up to it.

While there is no “official” dress code for The Queen’s Plate, it is encouraged that guests dress up to take it the complete horse racing experience.

One caveat – guests with tickets to the Woodbine Club, Northern Dancer or Royal Enclosure seating section are required to dress business casual. Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie with a collared shirt. Ladies are encouraged to wear a hat or fascinator and to dress for a smart occasion; please refrain from wearing strapless, off the shoulder, halters or spaghetti straps. Running shoes and branded or promotional clothing is not permitted.

Happy Birthday Canada!

The Queen’s Plate Festival Weekend wraps up on Sunday, July 1st with a FREE Canada Day celebration.

Bring the whole family to the Hats & Horseshoes Party presented by Stella Artois, and enjoy live music and entertainment all day long including JUNO Award nominated children’s duo, Splash'N Boots. Kids will have access to bouncy castles, pony rides, face painting, carnival games and more.

With thoughtful lyrics, first-rate musicianship and exciting live shows, Splash'N Boots has ridden a giant yellow and blue wave to the forefront of the Canadian children’s music scene. Splash'N Boots deliver super-charged, interactive performances.

"No two performances are ever alike, they're very audience-driven, " say performers Taes and Nick. "We switch up the songs and just let it happen; it can definitely be unpredictable, but it makes it really fun and exciting!"

Since their inception, Splash’N Boots has been committed to using their platform to support and raise awareness for important causes. Through their grassroots organization, Splash’N Boots 4 Kids, the duo is dedicated to creating sustainable, long-term musical programming for Canadian children. In April 2017, Splash’N Boots begin working on outreach programs for at-risk children in over 12 Northern Canadian communities.

Matt Morgan Band

Matt Morgan has always had a love and affection for music and song, and it is something that runs in his blood. Matt’s grandfather bought him his first guitar at ten, and he hasn’t put one down since. From blues to country to hip-hop and beyond, all of these genres have clearly left their mark on his signature style of singing and playing, as well as the type of compositions he creates. In 2004 Matt Morgan began attending McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario.

Bubblegum Bikini

Bubblegum Bikini is a collection of veteran musicians who bring an electrifying and visceral musical experience to events across the GTA. All five members of the group have extensive experience showcasing their abilities internationally, but call Toronto their home and deliver the party whenever needed. Mark Calderone (Nicemark, Brendan Canning) swoons on guitar and vocals, Aubrey McGhee (Grand Analog, The Pick Brothers) and Ernesto Barahona (Bus Up Shop, The Pick Brothers) blow your hair back from their horns, and the rhythm section comes courtesy of Jon Amador (Fat As F***) and Robert Riccio (The Famly). From musical backgrounds across the board, this tuneful collective is qualified to satisfy and will keep the party rocking until the lights go out.

DAY 3- Event Details​

Woodbine will celebrate Canada by giving out free Canadian Flags, serving birthday cake and offering Canadian themed dishes across all food concession areas!

For the adults, relax in the Beer Garden, bet on the ponies, listen to great cover bands live on stage and play entertaining games like life-sized beer pong.

Kids Zone -

Children can bounce to their heart's content at the Kid's Inflatable Zone! For only $5.00 children will receive a wristband access to the inflatable zone all day long!

Feast from some of Toronto’s hottest food trucks or enjoy tasty Canadian themed food from Woodbine’s concession stands.

Choose from great wine and cocktail selections and enjoy a variety of beer brands including Stella Artois, Bud, Bud Light, Millstreet Organic, Alexander Keith’s, Corona and more.

The Canadian Cowgirls of Chatham Kent Ontario Canada are an elite Rodeo style precision riding team consisting of dazzling women and their horses performing daring musical drills in spectacular glittering costumes.
